Waikato Water Study - Support in principle

This report recommends Waipa District Council pass a resolution to support 'in principle' the formation of a waters CCO.  Waikato District Council and Hamilton City Council both passed 'in principle' resolutions in July 2015 and June 2015 respectively.

Waikato Sub-Regional Water Study

It raises the possibility of there being further investigation into specific issues, including the potential decision-making framework and shareholding arrangements of a CCO. Waikato-Sub-Regional Water Study 30 July

This report to Hamilton City Council recommends that the Council, 'in principle' support the formation of a three-Council waters CCO involving Hamilton City, Waipa District and Waikato District Councils. The report notes that, at the time of writing, Waipa District Council had not formally considered the recommendation to form a CCO. Until all three councils have made a decision, no further substantive progress can be made.

This report discusses a proposal to modify the previously recommended approach in regards to investigating a "consolidation" approach for the expansion of services between the council and WaterCare Services. It makes three recommendations to Waikato District Councillors. 

Waikato Water Study: Watercare Option Selection

The purpose of this report is to include in the Waikato Water Study assessment an option to expand the current relationship with Watercare Services Limited (WSL) in the Waikato District. Waikato District Council staff were tasked to determine the best form of relationship to be put forward for this assessment, and report back to Council for approval. In late January a workshop was held with participants from WSL, Council, Cranleigh and Participate to determine the nature of any expanded arrangement.Following the workshop, the Consolidation option was selected as the most suitable model to carry forward into the study.
